Impact on passenger safety, service and accessibility Research shows time and time again that passengers like and value ticket offices and ticket office staff. In the 2022 public consultation on ScotRail's proposals, 99% of respondents objected to the plans. Issues raised in the consultation included the impact on accessibility, access to NHS hospitals, station facilities, anti-social behaviour. The overwhelming opposition to the UK Government's plans to close around 1000 ticket offices...

Dossier Strategisch gut durchdacht, drohte die RMT (National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers) damit, ausgerechnet am 3. Juni 2022 die Londoner U-Bahnen zu bestreiken. An diesem Tag soll einmalig ein Feiertag zum 70. Thronjubiläum der Queen eingerichtet werden. In London sind verschiedene Groß-Events geplant, der Streik hätte diese gefährdet. Mittlerweile gab es durch den Druck erste Fortschritte in den Verhandlungen und die RMT hat angekündigt, den Streik am 3. Juni 2022 abzusagen. Am 6. Juni 2022 ist jedoch weiterhin ein Streik geplant. In 17 Urabstimmungen in England und Schottland stimmten 89 Prozent von den 40.000 aufgerufenen Kolleg:innen für Streikaktionen. Wir dokumentieren den Verlauf der Auseinandersetzung um das Streikrecht in strategisch wichtigen Infrastrukturen und den Kampf gegen die geplante Streikreform der britischen Regierung im Verkehrswesen. NEU: Während eine Welle von Bahnstreiks im März in Großbritannien weitergeht, kündigt die staatliche Network Rail Kürzungen bei der Eisenbahninfrastruktur an: "Rail Cuts Cost Lives!"
