Just to show what I meant about mystery "orchestra"s doing whole collections of #ThemeMusic, here is #EMI and "the Powerpack Orchestra" cashing on in the popularity of this stuff back years ago, with their own performance and arrangement in 1988.

I don't fully know what the economics of these were, and we shouldn't use the "e" word near Keith's account anyway; but the originals/what was heard on the telly were either expensive or unavailable a lot of the time. Library music was generally not available to οι πολλοι. So there was a number of people making cheap re-arrangements or their own performances.

It's "Pop Looks Bach" by #SamFonteyn. It looks like Cavendish Music Library (which was owed by Boosey and Hawkes back in the 1970s) still has the rights today. It's certainly copyright claiming on YouTube as if it has. (-:

We are coming full circle from https://mastodonapp.uk/@JdeBP/109897027720161579 I see. (-:

I believe that I have Ski Sunday on tape and on CD. There are certainly a fair few theme music collections that have it, and YouTube has a handful of those, where such-and-such "orchestra" does a whole bunch of popular theme tunes.

It occurred to me that I should look up the correct theme tune for Dickie Davies on YouTube and get Ski Sunday out of my head. I got a little lost on the way. https://youtu.be/C60ZtQaPfxQ #Grandstand #OldBritishTelly #KPM #KeithMansfield
