The ‘Philadelphi Corridor’: A goal for Netanyahu, a red line for Egypt
A narrow buffer zone between Egypt and the Gaza Strip, the "Philadelphia Corridor" has come under increasing scrutiny as Israel plans a full-scale military offensive on Rafah, Gaza’s crammed, southernmost city near the border. Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has repeatedly declared his country’s intention to take control of the strategic sliver of land.
