For my limited knowledge in this space (I had a fortunate childhood in this regard), it seems to me that DV behaviour is a learned behaviour. Hence, Young ones and adolescents exposed to DV are more likely to develop behaviour patterns which may result in DV as adults.
This article addresses an important part of our social responsibilities towards Others in our society. All too often, where family problems are addressed, the kids get overlooked or barely recognised. I have no facts to back this up. But one would think that focusing on appropriate services to help the young victims from the start would eventually translate into fewer occurances of DV.
