I give #IParryEverything one more episode for the main character to realize that he accomplished a great feat, then I’m done with it.
I’ve seen just one or two characters where they went an entire season of them not realizing that everyone else is several levels below them and I’m already tired of it. Privilege much?

In this particular case it would also kind of ruin the backstory of how hard he trained if he doesn’t get to know how much he gained from that training. So I hope it’s just a short phase and not something that will follow him the whole series like for the dad in #SRankDaughter

The first episode of #SRankDaughter reminded me that the single most annoying anime trope is that every female character has a natural envy for larger breasts that exists completely independently of any other characteristics she may have.
In this case it’s also in a letter to her dad (!) where she mentions that her fellow adventurer has big breasts. I mean, what!?

In general I won’t deny that there are women who envy others, but placing it randomly and not as a means of characterization is just lazy (it could show that she’s insecure about her body and maybe in general, or that she cares overly much about being attractive).

One daughter wants to best him, another wants to bed him; are we sure Belgrave isn't a misplaced isekai protagonist?

Forgot to start the #Fall2023Anime thread for first episode impressions. Kicking it off with My Daughter Left the Nest and Returned an S-Rank Adventurer Episode 1:

Good start, but the episode skips all the dad and daughter setup of the light novel. It breezes through to present day super fast

Still it does enough to portray the close connection between Angeline and Belgrieve qs dad and daughter. I just hope the show can slow its pace and fully realize it the way the light novel does.

So my fall #anime season has started off with *checks notes* My Daughter Has Left the Nest and Become an S-Rank Adventurer (I'll just call it #SRankDaughter for short).

It's a nice start as we get to see how strong the bond between daughter and father, even after years apart, as they live their own lives. Junichi Suwabe and Saori Hayami are always nice to have as leads. The production quality is decent enough (although we already have bad horse cg).

Unless this becomes dogshit, I'll be staying with this one for a while.
