@Numerfolt - It's a Lego(-like) kit consisting of 4,680 pieces for building a 2-foot long/tall version of the space battle cruiser from the series "Macross", or "Robotech" (as it's mainly known in the US).
It's basically a giant Transformer created from building blocks.
We're in the home stretch now. Just finished Bag #14 (of 16), which added the assault landing craft Daedalus!
Working hard to get this wrapped up ASAP, as this build is consuming ALL my leftover time that I need back for holiday chores.
Bags #8 and #9 (of 16) of the SDF-1 build.
The main body and thrusters have taken shape, and we're ALMOST getting to adding the command bridge.
Next couple of bags should be interesting as the Prometheus and Daedalus will be added as arms.
Finished bags #6 and #7 (of 16) last night watching "The Night Before" and the Harold and Kumar Christmas flicks. The legs of the SDF-1 are looking good and the bridge area is starting to come together.
SDF-1 Macross build process: 5 / 16 bags. (Over 1,000 pieces so far!)
Would be going faster if I didn't need to tear apart and rebuild a leg three times last night: once to make it look like the other leg, and twice after realizing I fixed the wrong leg.
SDF-1 build progress thus far... I spent half a season of "Cobra Kai" getting to this point, where I have most of one leg constructed, after going through the first two chapters in the build. Starting work on the next leg.
Contrary to the picture appearance, there are a LOT of blocks in these. The final result is going to be pretty heavy and sturdy.
