Somehow the trimming was completed without release of magic smoke.

Dismal Gardener came to realize that the trimmer is noisy. That the tone is deliberate as it is made with the head barely turning and a fresh, known-good battery, and it gets lost in the racket the machine makes when trimming.

The sound is not explained in any Ryobi Tools materials DG could find.
