This is how voter suppression works. It’s quiet and personal.
As a Texan, I have experienced this same suppression in 2010. After Obama’s win, I was kicked off the rolls. The humiliation of going to vote and being turned away is real.
I felt like a failure. Like it was my fault. But this is how Texas suppresses democracy. Quietly and personally.
