On this day 50 years ago, the New York Nets won the 1973-74 ABA championship at Nassau Coliseum, led by Julius Erving and a cast of kids. Dr. J dropped 40+ points in 7 games, which would be the most in franchise history if ABA stats counted in the NBA history books.
