#Spain and #Portugal experience the hottest April day since measurements began. Across #Europe, it has never been hotter in April. As is so often the case lately, records are not just being broken, they are being pulverised (#RecordShattering). A clear sign that this is not just a single weather event, but must be seen in the context of #ClimateChange.

An unprecedented winter warm spell, a #WinterHeatWave, is currently taking place in #Europe. Over the turn of the year, countless records for maximum temperature were broken in almost every country. Not infrequently by several degrees. #RecordShattering
Of course, this is a singular event, primarily, but due to its intensity and spatial and temporal extent, it should be seen in the context of climate change, which has made it more likely and perhaps even possible. #ClimateCrisis #Weather
