I guess Joe Root won't threaten the Sachin Test record - 10 tests in 2022, but only 5 Ashes in 2023, 16 this coming year, but again 5 in 2025 (taking him past Ponting) until Ashes 25/26 (where he has a century to score), which makes it 13 in 2026. 34 Tests before he turns 36, which is 3k-3200 runs = 14.5k.
