please recommend me some starters for my radical red nuzlocke!!!

i've been playing with mudkip which is fun but after like 15 attempts it gets a bit boring though he is really good

(radical red has starters from gen 1 to gen 9)

After a break, I'm back to nuzlocking Pokemon Radical Red, and a funny thing just happened.

So I'm on the route north of Nugget Bridge. I found a Leaf Stone there and then I went in the grass to get my encounter for that area: a Pansage. The game is randomized, so any other Pokemon out of the 1000-something could've been there, but no, it was a Pansage.

And take a guess what Pansage needs in order to evolve. ​​

The new Pokemon Radical Red update is sick. They unlocked everything for randomizers, whereas in 4.0 or earlier, certain Pokemon weren't in the randomization pool, as they are too strong. This sounds like it'd make the game trivial, but with how hard it is and how bad I am at Radical Red Nuzlockes, it's more like it evens out the playing field ​​

I just beat Bugsy and Misty and I have yet to lose a single Pokemon. I think it's the first time I got this far deathless. Of course, the early game is always the easiest part because in a non-scaled randomizer, the player has the opportunity to potentially get fully evolved mons or legendaries any time. It's gonna get much more difficult from here on out though, as the opponents are slowly gonna get fully evolved Pokemon too.

Also the character customization is awesome. As someone that's played most Pokemon games multiple times, including FRLG, I'm kinda tired of using the default male or default female character. Nice to have some variety now.

This is the aftermath of the rival battle on Nugget Bridge. I fought against the version of his team that has a Wartortle, which can give more of an insight as to the reason I chose the Pokemon I chose.

Actually, here's the rival's team: Kirlia, Staravia, Pawniard, Wartortle

Alakazam and Monferno ended up not being used. Alakazam was there in case something went terribly wrong during this fight, and Monferno technically was my counter for the Pawniard. However, when the Pawniard came out, I happened to have Zebstrika out, so I just used Flame Charge with her instead and defeated it in 2 hits.

Also, you might recognize some of the nicknames I gave my Pokemon. What I did is I randomized an anime that I've seen and then picked a character from that show. Some make more sense than others, though. For example, Suletta being the Red Costume Pikachu makes sense to me, because red. Aharen as Monferno doesn't.

In case there are multiple characters with the same name, which there most likely are, these are the specific characters they're named after: Suletta from Witch from Mercury, Historia from Attack on Titan, Nino from Quintessential Quintuplets, Aharen from Aharen-san wa Hakarenai, Kirika from Symphogear and Uta from The Yuzuki Family's Four Sons.

Speaking of rom hacks, I'm currently on Attempt 2 of Radical Red. Full disclosure, because the game is so difficult, I'm playing it similarly to how the youtubers are doing it. That means encounters are randomized without similar strength, abilities also randomized, I'm using docs, as well as I'm allowing myself as many encounters as possible. This doesn't mean I can catch all the Pokemon in a route, but it means I can catch 1 in the route as well as 1 in the den (if there is one), as well as allowing all gift Pokemon or eggs.

When (and if!) I do manage to beat Radical Red like this, I'll definitely try to play it "the legit way" too. But if I can't do it this way, I wouldn't be able to do it normally either.

First run ended at the double battle in Silph Co. For a first attempt, not that bad, I'd say.

Would anyone be interested in me posting the teams I use to beat important battles? For Attempt 2, this would mean only from the rival battle at Nugget Bridge onwards, because I already beat the first 3 bosses and I don't have screenshots of who I used to win. Might do it either way ​​, but I'll use a CW and specify it's Radical Red, so you can avoid it if not interested.
