I'm not on social media much for a bit as other projects and family visits are keeping me occupied, but I have started my next round of #RVWSymphonyOdyssey listening: two cycles recorded over the same time period in the same venue, London's Kingsway Hall. Wow! Here's the Portuguese premiere of Vaughan Williams's #Symphony No. 9; Pedro de Freitas Branco conducting the National Symphony Orchestra on 20th December 1958, four months after the composer's death. The sound on this video is pretty rough but stick with it because the performance is very good indeed!
