Today I got to use some of the sign language I have learnt through the RNID Connect box I have been getting (link below).
I was at a funeral and there was a Deaf man there who was delighted when I tried to use some of the words I knew and we had a simple conversation.
It has made me want to learn more!
UK folks, have you ever wondered about BSL?
I discovered recently that the RNID do a thing called RNID:Connect, where they will send you out basic sign language stuff and info about how to communicate well with deaf people.
I have had 3 months worth now, and it is a delight when the envelope drops through the letterbox. I know more sign language than I have ever known, and it delights me
