How it began: August, 1970

80 orcas captured. Using boats, explosives & nets they separated calves from their mothers.
Locals were haunted by their pitiful cries.

Most of the babies didn't last a year.
One orca killed herself by ramming into a wall.

Please boycott all aquariums, zoos, and marine parks in her memory!

We're so very sorry. Rest in paradise, Lolita, free forever and never to be imprisoned again. 🥀

Just found out that Lolita the orcas has died, may she rest in peace and be in a better place. #riplolita

I am so sad. #Lolita, the #Dolphin, that was in a tank at the #seaquarium in #Florida over 40 years, since my kids were babies, has died. #RIPLOLITA
