Some people still think that everyone has give their share and not be a freeloader when using public infrastructure

While we have #publicmoneypubliccode, why don't we have #publiccodepublicmoney as in "You want to work in Free Open Source Software projects that benefit everyone? Cool, here is credit from society. Keep up the good work!"
I mean, while it's a no-brainer to release everything financed through public money in the public domain as free software it's also notable that independent workers for FOSS are valuable and should be compensated for doing a public deed.
