Simona Meiler pushes boundaries in climate risk science

Prix Schläfli 2025 for Geosciences: Simona’s snowboarding career ended at the 2018 Winter Olympics, but since then, she has shown the same drive in her commitment to science. Simona Meiler has been awarded the Swiss Academy of Sciences’ Prix Schläfli in Geosciences for her research into tropical cyclones.

Ihre Arbeit könnte die Fluoreszenzmikroskopie revolutionieren: Michelle Frei hat an der ETH Lausanne und am Max-Planck-Institut für medizinische Forschung in Heidelberg eine neue Methode entwickelt, um Prozesse in lebenden Zellen sichtbar zu machen. Dafür wird sie mit dem Prix Schläfli für Chemie ausgezeichnet.
