The fact of art causing a kerfuffle among politicos reminds me so much of #PortraitGate in 2009, where unflattering portraits of Brian Cowen prompted the mobilisation of the resources of the State against an artist.

Gardaí investigated multiple potential criminal offences against him, they seized a number of his paintings, and a detective reportedly visited the national broadcaster to seize email correspondence from the artist to one of their News & Current Affairs programmes.
