which brings me to a point i made tongue-and-cheek the other day, but i want to re-make it for real: liberal and left protesters should (at some point) start protesting Democratic lawmakers, judges, local police, whatever. whoever **can** use force to stop ICE/CBP, but is not, should be made miserable. **they** the ones that can be persuaded, and insofar as social protest is a project of persuasion, they are the ones who should be its target.
A Black person said he experienced some specific anti-Black racism and SF people are asking him to say exactly what racist thing was said to him so they can judge whether that was really racist That’s racist, you all.
The strategic error here is that being shouted at in public makes them heroes for their sycophantic cult.
Christine Blasey Ford already explained: #laughter is indelible in the hippocampus.
To actually break through, live rent-free in their psyche, and prevent the footage from having a positive effect in their audience, the strategy should be simple: #PointAndLaugh.
They hate, hate, hate mockery.
Can’t stand it. Won’t share it. Shouldn’t like it.
Simple is elegant.
The #fediverse isn’t the audience for creepy weirdos, but they require audience participation—specifically, hecklers—to earn attention.
Being jeered is a feature, not a bug, and sometimes the best plan isn’t just ignore, it’s #PointAndLaugh, telling a story about the thing to do in the next five minutes.
