To any #hockey fans that do not understand why the #NBA implemented a #PlayInTournament for the #nbaplayoffs :

Teams would tank on purpose to up their chances at the draft lottery. Rince and repeat until they have a war chest of draft assets that can be traded for superstars or for better draft picks. Ranking 9th & 10th also gives these teams a crack at post-season instead of giving up.

I was skeptical at first but accepted it. I don't hate it either.
