Because #Parmenides' #philosophy ("all is one", therefore change is impossible) was attacked in the Greek agora, his student Zeno of Alea deviced several #rethoric arguments to defend his master. His famous #paradoxes.

In the process, he inspired centuries of thought, which led to a new branch of #mathematics, #calculus, and the concept of #infinity.
