The cat algorithm on another social media platform informs me that cats need daily enrichment activities to keep them from getting bored.
I’ve been trying to do that with Misti (in addition to her regular playtime) to hopefully come up with a sort of schedule that I can repeat every month. This will consist of blanket forts, puzzle treats, and DIY toys.
This was the fort I made her yesterday. She got in there twice during the day, and a couple of times on the floor underneath it. So I would say not an overwhelming success, but good enough to keep her curious. It can stay on the monthly rotation schedule 😊
Misti would like to make a complaint with the manager, because – once again – she has not been fed since forever (2.5 hours ago) and is starving.
She is lying. She is not starving. In fact, she has been fed two hours ago and will be fed again in two hours. It has not been an eternity.
This is mostly a reminder for myself 🥺
I put on some cat tv earlier. You know, where they show birds and squirrels etc. so your cat can stay occupied and mentally stimulated.
Our Misti got really excited about that: after merely a couple of seconds, she jumped up at the tv and started pawing at it.
So yeah … not doing that again 😅
You might think this is just another picture of a cat on a human.
But no!
This is a picture of our cat, Misti, who, for the first time since being adopted six months ago, stepped onto my lap completely of her own free will (as opposed to being bribed with treats) and sat there comfortably for about seven minutes.
Misti, my sweet potato, I freaking adore you! 🥰
