ZorroI was lucky enough to see one of the most influential artists of my life last night at the Sydney Opera House. Paul Weller was the frontman for iconic 70s and 80s English band, The Jam, and had a huge impact on my politics, fashion and taste in music. Disbanding at the height of their popularity in 1982, his evolution into his next band The Style Council, was initially both radical and successful but foundered only a few albums later. His final form, as a solo artist, has lasted 30 years, produced 13 albums and some absolute bangers.
He closed the performance with Town Called Malice and I belted out every line, along with much of the capacity crowd.
Thanks for a lifetime of music, Mr Weller!
