I hope this #OliverBook detour makes me learn a bit more about how the Linux graphics stack works, maybe even enough to finally get #pipewire screencasts working with #wlmirror.
I spent way too long getting the A1 #OliverBook working with Linux the last few days. It works pretty well now, but I went through a lot of trials and tribulations:
Graphics work! The i915 driver has a very unfortunate KMS issue, but that can be worked around with a fun DRM hack that "fixes" it early during boot
Touchscreen works! You need some firmware from Windows, and a calibration Matrix, but smooth sailing otherwise
Audio is still broken :( The infamous ESSX8336 is hard to get working
