The last three years I have mostly been reading for this art history "textbook" : Maggie Nelson, Harry Dodge, Timothy Morton, Shannon Jackson (currently: Social Works) Judith Butler. Expanding my understanding of Walter Benjamin and Foucault in the context of post modernism and (lets be real) modernism existing side by side.
The book is meant to trace connections between indexical thinkers (esp Michael Lombardi) and to position myself as an information artist via the Los Angeles tradition of pop minimalism.
Exploring the situationist training of my youth as a vaudeville style Renaissance Faire stage manager I came to understand myself as a LA artist in exile. An exilic thinker part of a diaspora to southern Humboldt and the back to the land movement. 1990's "Furthest West" artist.
I have billed myself as a conceptual artist since 1992 roughly on the advice of a Latvian artist friend.
I also did an open source internet of things project or #OSIOT and was part of #superstruct a giant online futurist predictions game.
