Milton, ON’s Third Moon Brewing is doing a tap takeover at Stillwell on Barrington in #Halifax today — stopped by to get some cans to go. Little expensive but amazing IPAs - $9-12 for a pint at the bar, 15% off to bring home.
Sadly they didn’t have any of their weird shit like Epoch or Milton Dew, but it doesn’t travel well so I understand.
With a nor’easter nor’easting outside I thought I’d finally open up this 2020 Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Porter from Collective Arts.
I don’t think I meant to cellar this one, but had a lot of big porters that year and then got busy with moving and discovering new breweries here in the Maritimes.
It’s what you’d expect from a CA imperial porter, big bourbon and coffee nose, and a few years rest took off any edge the 11.5% might have given it.

and looking at several of their beers on untappd, this isn't the only one that's had an infection problem. and they're using contract brewing, I think, too.

oof, one of the beers in my “beer of the month” was off, a supposed APA that was definitely and unintentionally sour (and not just for me, Untappd confirms). Sucks for a small brewery hoping to get their beer in front of people for the first time!
Haven’t done a #CurrentlyDrinking in a while! Was pleased to see an Amsterdam #IPA 4-pack available at the #NSLC, and admittedly bought it mostly for this one, one of the classic Toronto beers that I miss.
Now to get GLB‘s Octopus down here as well…

Quadruple is rather a lot of IPA. And at 11.6% this is rather a lot of beer. Goes down easy though, like a hoppy winter warmer.
