Scrolling IG and saw a "thread" where a doctor was talking about med student Joy on "The Pitt" like this:
Interesting seeing everyone applauding Joy for having boundaries, because the oath we take as doctors and a lot of the care you receive from your own physicians is because we don’t have good boundaries. 😬
Wut??
Oaths don't give u rights as a worker.
Unions do that!
Our patients only benefit from us having better rest, better pt ratios, and getting working hours in our collective bargaining agreements.
Chop from the top! CEOs do not need millions while residents and med students are manipulated into this mindset that this is a "calling".
It's not a calling, it's a job.
We are workers in a capitalist shitshow.
"The Pitt" does a good job of painstakingly pointing this out.
Like it's one of the top themes of the entire show!
And if you can't get this through your head, you shouldn't be in medicine.
