Heh. So, truth be told, I am "Doomsday Jones". And I am #GenerationJones! Was it named after me? Probably not. However, I'm in company with #RobertSmith, #SiouxsieSioux and #TrentReznor! Generation Jones, Mother Fuckers!

Too young to be a #Boomer, too old to be #GenX: Meet the microgeneration 'Generation Jones'

Generation Jones is made up of people born from 1954 to 1965.

Excerpt: "Gen Jones gets its name from the competitive 'keeping up with the Joneses' spirit that spawned during their populous birth years, but also from the term 'jonesin',' meaning an intense craving, that they coined—a drug reference but also a reflection of the yearning to make a difference that their 'unrequited idealism left them with.' @wa7iut
For reference for those not old enough, in Seattle area, I (& roommate) paid $325/mo for a 2bd/1bth in the early 80's and minimum wage was around $3.60 or something an hour.

@godzero @ukuku @pluralistic

@RainCityBunnies Me too.

It's a tradeoff. My parents bought their first fridge used, in the late 60s. It was 15-20 years old at the time. Two family moves later, it went down to the basement as the "2nd fridge". They finally got rid of it, still working, in the late 90s.

But in 1950, it probably cost 2-3 months of the average workers' wage. It's a small fraction of that now.

I think there was a sweet spot for price/durability, probably in the 80s.

@MariaHill @Sunspot 1965 is the first year of Not Being A Boomer and that pleases me. Especially when my teen aged kids call me a Boomer which I am not!
