The ‘Crush Nazism’ monument outside Oslo Central Station

The “Crush Nazism” monument was unveiled in 2015 outside Oslo Central Station. Created by artist Bjørn Melbye Gulliksen, it honors the efforts of the Osvald Group, a Norwegian WWII resistance group that carried out sabotage against Nazi forces.

The monument features a hammer crushing a swastika, symbolizing the fight against totalitarianism. The group, led by Asbjørn Sunde, was highly active in the war but fell out of favor post-war due to ties with communism. This monument now stands as a reminder of their sacrifices.
