I just facilitated an interprofessional education session with a group of first year med students at #NOSMU and let me tell you I am EXCITED. What a bright, grounded and generally lovely bunch. There were great discussions around what it means in practice to have a true patient-centred approach, and what makes for good teamwork in healthcare with that common goal. They challenged role stereotypes and even ideas in the curriculum itself in thoughtful, nuanced, evidence-informed ways. 1/2
Prior to that I was a Practice Advisor with a health professions regulator for 4 years. I also work as a small group facilitator at #NOSMU. I am interested in all things related to health care education, adult learning, and innovative initiatives to serve patient populations in the region, particularly those that are under serviced and those at higher risk related to social determinants of health. 2/
