Coordinator, LaCalle Chesapeake Gallery
The purpose of this position is to operate the College’s the Dr. James & Lynne LaCalle Chesapeake Gallery. This is accomplished by planning exhibits and events, handling installation and de-installation of exhibitions, promoting exhibits and events, overseeing the gallery’s digital presence, working with the Gallery and Arts on Campus Committee (GACC), budget oversight, funding support, and performing general administrative duties.The Coordinator, LaCalle Chesapeake Gallery, is responsible for duties including but not limited to:Planning LaCalle Chesapeake Gallery exhibitions and related events in collaboration with the Gallery and Arts on Campus Committee (GACC).Managing all aspects of exhibitions, including communicating with artists, scheduling, installations, maintenance, deinstallations, and coordinating the shipping and receiving of artwork as needed.Planning, coordinating, and promoting events that utilize the gallery space for stakeholders within the College and throughout the county and local region.Engaging in educational and co-curricular planning, including oversight of internships and other experiential learning opportunities.Establishing partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance gallery utilization, sponsorships, and continuing education opportunities.Conducting community outreach to strengthen the gallery’s visibility and impact.Maintaining an annual calendar of events.Attending monthly GACC meetings and providing updates on exhibitions, events, and gallery activities.Overseeing the promotion and publication of gallery exhibitions, including management of the gallery website and social media presence.Building, maintaining, and regularly communicating with a network of patrons.Generating documentation of all exhibition artwork and managing the overall operation and maintenance of the gallery space.Ordering and maintaining gallery supplies and equipment.Managing the organizational budget.Maintaining the College’s art collection within the gallery’s temperature-controlled storage area.Collaborating with various departments to identify and pursue grant opportunities and other fundraising initiatives.Enhancing, expanding, and improving the gallery’s impact on the College as well as the local and broader regional community.This is a full-time, exempt staff positionApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States, as the College does not offer Visa sponsorship for this positionEmployees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.
