It's usually around this time of day at new year I make a joke about my new year's resolution, by giving my screen resolution. But not this year. This year I have not so much a resolution as a plan. Or maybe a hope. Put simply.
Move carefully and fix things.
Ages ago one of my chairs broke cos a screw was damaged. I got a replacement screw, brought it home. And it promptly went missing. A few weeks ago during a tidy up I found it again, and put it somewhere safe so I could do the repair later. Then couldn't find it.
Clearing the dining table for Xmas dinner I just found the screw, so rather than lose it again, I interrupted tidying to go fix the chair. So I can't lose the screw again.
The thing about advocating for digital & Ai ethics in the age of mass surveillance is anything can become a training set….. for bad or good.
