Er ist übrigens ganz in der Nähe der lokalen, ähm, Hauptstadt "The Bottom" (~658 Einwohner. Insgesamt.).

Mount Scenery on the Caribbean island of Saba, the highest mountain on Dutch territory, is officially some 17 metres lower than had been thought. SanderWhen you ask people what the highest point is in the Netherlands, nine out of ten times you will get the Vaalserberg (322 meter) in the South of mainland Netherlands as an answer. In 2019 however, the island of Saba (together with the islands of Bonaire and Sint Eustatius) became "special municipalities" of the Netherlands. Before that they were seperate countries part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Since Saba is now part of the Netherlands, the highest point is now Mount Scenery. Today the sad news came, that it is not 877 meters high as previously though. New measures showed it is only 870 meters high, losing 7 whole meters. Will start weeping now. 😅
