Fascinating concepts for #disasterrecovery, #desertarchitecture, #asteroidmining, and #nomadic #Marshabitats were developed during the 'Designing for Earth by Living in Space' workshop in Lugano, Switzerland. Participants from 15 different countries brought their unique professional backgrounds to the table, resulting in a fascinating blend of expertise. I helped out by giving input and feedback to the different project teams.

@nasa is testing #3Dprinting of #marshabitats using what NASA calls lavacrete

My thought is that they should call it #frodobe which is frozen adobe made from resources found on #Mars specifically fine regolith (aka dirt) and water that's extruded hot like #PLA in a 3D printer & freezes to build a structure. NASA calls this In Situ Resource Utilization ISRU as we're not sending buildings from #Earth
