Sweet gale, Myrica gale blooming in the sun
The tiny blooms of Diapensia laponica are a special treat for fieldwork in #Labrador. The stems are only 1-3cm tall. The little flowers look robust, but I've learned they only last a few days in the short northern summer.
Crab boats came in last night!
high of 11c and rainy. If it keeps the black flies down I'll take it!
Meanwhile the community gardens continue to grow. Great to see people claiming their space with personalized signs!
Day one of my second trip to #Makkovik #Labrador for this year. Discovered en route that the new OM-1 Mk2 that I used to make some spectacular photos in June is non-functional. Hopefully just a faulty battery, but unfixable until I return home in two weeks.
Luckily, in trimming my field kit down I decided to keep my Nikon Z50 on hand. It doesn't have the features of the OM, but I still love shooting with it. No image stacking, but the ability to turn on has become a 'killer feature' for this trip.
