Klein, günstig aber mit Schwächen: Magcubic Mini-Beamer im Test

Beim Magcubic Mini-Beamer handelt es sich um einen 4K-kompatiblen Projektor mit Android 14. Der Hersteller gibt die Helligkeit in zwei verschiedenen Angaben an: zum einen 8.000 Lumen und zum anderen 200 ANSI-Lumen. Letzteres dürfte eine sehr realistische Angabe sein.

I bought the #Magcubic HY300 Pro + projector on Jan 12 and it was delivered today via DHL. I paid 35,48€ and it was shipped from Poland, so no extra costs for me (EU mainland).

It was advertised as Android 11 but as soon as I connected the projector to the internet it got updated and it seems to be running Android 14 now.

I enabled dev options by clicking x7 on About, and turned ADB settings on. The projector has this super constrained launcher where everything is locked, but this was enough to let me connect the thing to my comp (USB A to USB A) and install Projectivity launcher and also Jellyfin (only reason I bought it).

I disabled the default launcher by running adb shell pm disable-user com.htc.magcubicos and a few other apps, too.

I had to enable it back on, though, cause it let's you correct and scale picture. Truth is it's not so bad.

Quality? Washed out colours, tad blurry in the middle, noisy fan, proprietary AC… But not bad at all for the price.
