Wrote blog post about a quick experiment using #openai large language models with geologic information from #Macrostrat API and #wikipedia to create local & regional geology descriptions for any arbitrary roadside location worldwide.

Not perfect but exciting how far a little bit of work went. Lots of room to improve that feels easy. Hoping others take it further. Code is available.

Macrostrat will tell you what's under your feet where you are. In great detail. I learned that an earthquake fault that I didn't know existed sits a couple of miles east of my house.

If you can use a map application to locate a destination, you won't have any trouble using Macrostrat.
