Eines der beiden Bilder, jenes von Franz von Matsch, ist in Luxemburg im Musée national d'archéologie, d'histoire et d'art (MNAHA) zu sehen, ich werde da demnächst mal hinfahren.

How Klimt and Matsch rendered a Ghanaian Prince in turn-of-the-century Vienna

At the Nationalmusée um Fëschmaart in Luxembourg, visitors can discover a mysterious portrait by Franz von Matsch. The Austrian painter, active in Vienna at the turn of the century, was once part of iconic artist Gustav Klimt's inner circle. Both painters seemingly sat side-by-side to portray this enigmatic sitter, recently identified as a Ghanaian Prince. He is also the subject of a long-lost painting by Gustav Klimt, unseen for a century. Most curiously, these portraits shed light on the friendship and break-up between Klimt and Matsch.
