I do want to emphasize, that my current unhappiness with #MLBtheShow is reserved for those who have authority over the monetization/reward balance and have pushed in what I think is a bad direction. I know most people working on the game can't do anything about it.

The enshittification of #MLBtheShow #DiamondDynasty

2023 April weekly drop program: Total of 33 packs, 62 individual player cards

2026 April weekly drop program: 7 packs, 28 individual player cards. Six of the players behind a time-limited, multiplayer event.

As much as I love playing the #MLBtheShow, if DD isn't interesting, I don't really need to buy the game every year, since a simple roster download/update will get me 90% of the non-DD content every year. There are not enough gameplay improvements year-on-year otherwise.
I can't imagine this approach that #MLBtheShow has pushed a little harder every year actually gets people to buy packs. I suspect it's more likely to make people less passionate about a game, and if people care less about something, they spend less.
#MLBtheShow's DD has really been awkward this month. For the first time in many years, I won't complete a program despite playing as much as I ever have. I'm not even *close*. So I'm in the weird position of not playing the game to preserve XP for if Inning Three sucks too.
