It's always fun to give some character action to the background characters. I like how the one porter is sort of startled by the other one's chess move, which he made while the first one was distracted by the people walking by. Sneaky bastard!

I have forgotten where I got this chess game. It's actually a few plays from early in a tournament game I found a record for, though. So the piece positions should actually make sense.

(I'm posting on my personal account, because the video uploads work here. One of the things I want to fix on my Misskey installation. There's always something to fix!)

And the reply from Georgiana.

Well. Thanks to some feedback I got this weekend, I have discovered that some of my older videos on PeerTube are broken. I don't know if those just broke when I upgraded to v8, or if they've been like that for a long time. I suspect it's the latter.

Probably due to issues with failed migration away from object storage. This will take some tedious tinkering to fix. In the end, I suspect it will be easier to just re-upload new copies of the videos in question (I should have offline copies of them all, though it may take some digging to find which ones I need).

If you find playback failures on
https://tv.filmfreedom.net this is probably what's going on. Sorry!

I am but a poor sad part-time sysadmin and only sort of know what I'm doing.

Okay. This is good step. I now have a static archive of my Production Log, up to October 2025 on the static droplet:

Looks like it works!

https://lunatics.tv/prodlog_archive

Not yet attached to the release site. I think I'm going to replace the "News" link (which currently links to the live Wordpress Production Log) with a little static fanout page with links to the different news sources for the project, including the static archive (which is mainly in case the live one isn't available).

This is shaping up.

Lunatics Production Log – "Somebody has to be crazy enough to go first!"

I've been upgrading my "Lunatics!" websites.

The main obstacle was removing the weird setup I had used for PeerTube before. Once I got that back to normal, the upgrade itself was very smooth.

Then I took some time to refine the look of Wordpress (my "Production Log") and PeerTube (now at v7.3). I think they look pretty nice now -- probably better than before.

I haven't really learned to use the new features in PeerTube, yet. It's supposed to allow for moving the video storage location, which I'd like to do -- the current cloud-based object storage approach is kind of inconvenient, and I think I want to go back to local storage.

The only app that I couldn't upgrade smoothly was Misskey, because the app package is flagged as "broken" (and has been for awhile -- unfortunately the Misskey app for YunoHost is not very actively maintained). I think I'm going to try forcing it to upgrade anyway and see what happens -- if it is indeed unusable, I can roll back to the snapshot, so no big loss.

Overall this has been a good experience.

I'm also looking into installing or re-installing apps that I had not had working -- starting with Nextcloud.
