Okay. This is good step. I now have a static archive of my Production Log, up to October 2025 on the static droplet:

Looks like it works!

Not yet attached to the release site. I think I'm going to replace the "News" link (which currently links to the live Wordpress Production Log) with a little static fanout page with links to the different news sources for the project, including the static archive (which is mainly in case the live one isn't available).

This is shaping up.

Lunatics Production Log – "Somebody has to be crazy enough to go first!"

I've been upgrading my "Lunatics!" websites.

The main obstacle was removing the weird setup I had used for PeerTube before. Once I got that back to normal, the upgrade itself was very smooth.

Then I took some time to refine the look of Wordpress (my "Production Log") and PeerTube (now at v7.3). I think they look pretty nice now -- probably better than before.

I haven't really learned to use the new features in PeerTube, yet. It's supposed to allow for moving the video storage location, which I'd like to do -- the current cloud-based object storage approach is kind of inconvenient, and I think I want to go back to local storage.

The only app that I couldn't upgrade smoothly was Misskey, because the app package is flagged as "broken" (and has been for awhile -- unfortunately the Misskey app for YunoHost is not very actively maintained). I think I'm going to try forcing it to upgrade anyway and see what happens -- if it is indeed unusable, I can roll back to the snapshot, so no big loss.

Overall this has been a good experience.

I'm also looking into installing or re-installing apps that I had not had working -- starting with Nextcloud.

I've been telling myself for a long time that I would update my Lunatics landing page as soon as I got my custom site generator ("LunaGen" FWIW) back to working.

Well, I decided to just edit the damned pages directly. It's not that hard.

I fixed the broken links to the dynamic (YunoHost) site where the project news blog and interactive stuff lives.

And then I also removed the Vimeo embeds and replaced them with PeerTube embeds from our own instance.

I know this is not a big change from the outside, but it's some important housekeeping for me to take care of.

I'm afraid the preview has not been updated. I plan to do a re-cut with current versions of all the shots -- but there are still two I haven't remade yet.

Lunatics!-Episodes

Film making is a constant tug-of-war between "artistic perfectionism" and "get it DONE!"

Sergei's lip-sync in LA-6-A is maybe a little too subtle. I could go back and increase how much his jaw moves...

Or, I could say "eff that, print that baby!"

Joshua Farmer has a PhD in agricultural science, but isn't fond of being called a "doctor". He likes to say he's "a Farmer by name and a farmer by trade".

His mission on the ISF-1 Colony is keeping the plants growing and the livestock thriving. Challenging!

Hiromi's husband and Georgiana's father is the ISF founder, engineer, and colony main designer, Rob Lerner. We catch up with him in episode 3.

Again.. if we get that far!

And if we ever make it to episode 5, we'll be joined by our scientist character, of the Lunar Field Geologist variety, Dr. Sarah Allison. Also noted for her experience at lunar EVAs and spacesuit testing.

This was all supposed to go so much faster in 2012... Ah well... the woes of no-budget production.
