Also there's a modern alternative to it, the #LUFO which has your modern IC-based radio in it.

• Personally I wounder if folks would consider such thermoelectric generators as "secondary payloads" in their (solar) ovens and other setups as they can - at scale - at least charge small batteries and power small devices.

Something interesting for those that want #FrugalComputing and may only want something like a #timer for their (solar) oven and don't need like a clock that runs 24/7.

OFC such #Thermocouples don't have much efficiency, but then again when you have like a Pizza oven that blasts multiple kW in it's chimney, that should deliver enough power through the Seebeck effect for some LED lights or even charge like a laptop...

• #Funfact: A lot of you may have seen such tech already in action with passive heat metering devices that are powered solely this way since they only calculate the temperature difference between the heat radiator and surroundings and thus calculate the energy output.
