#Windows #Linux #libreofficebase Question for Linux users: I’m seriously thinking about switching my Windows 10 machines to Linux (I refuse to go to Windows 11). My biggest concern is with Office programs. I am currently using MS Office 2007. The most critical part of my operation is Access, which I use for managing a huge collection of information. A few years ago, I tried OpenOffice, but its database was very limited. Does anyone know if LibreOfficeBase has full functionality that is compatible with Access? What I’m seeing online is yes, but I’d like to hear from someone who has experience with it. Thanks for any help/suggestions!
One year into learning SQL, and this is probably the stupidest command I've come up with so far. I feel like there has to be a better, less confusing way to remove apostrophes from every record in a field (for sorting purposes). #SQL #LibreOfficeBase #database

Hm, really tired of this #MSAccess, #LibreOfficeBase database application stuff. I need a quick way to create a "main/detail" GUI from a database.

There once was #WebObjects and that really nice #JavaClient stuff.

Is there anything else, existing to this day?

I know of
- #Apache #Cayenne (only ORM, no GUI generation)
- #ManyDesigns #Portofino (very close, but only web GUI. Thanks to @peter for that hint some time ago).

Do you know of anything? @helge

#Boost

#libreofficebase à quand au moins aussi bien que #access de M$ ?
#libreofficebase à quand une version majeure rivalisant à MS ?

Does anyone actually use #LibreOfficeBase for anything? I'm finding it frustratingly limited, compared the niche it's trying to fill (e.g. MS Access 97), and strikingly incomplete in the pieces it does try to accomplish.

(If I'm upsetting any LO devs out there who have worked on this, I apologize; I know it's a thankless task. I would be interested in learning how to work with the source code, in the vague hope of maybe being able to address some of these issues myself... in all my spare time, of course... >.>)

Gracias.
