Stoking the FireOnce again, the government of Oaxaca is making moves to try to impose the Libramiento Sur highway megaproject, now calling it the Corredor Zapoteco, in the central valleys of Oaxaca.
The proposed route of the highway passes through 18 municipalities in the central valleys of Oaxaca, including through ejido and communal lands.
The project has faced stiff resistance from different communities since it was first proposed in 2006. That resistance will surely continue.
