I might’ve had a little help from AI for this post (because why not?), but don’t worry, I’m still the one calling the shots. 😎

Today, on International Day of Persons with Disabilities, I’m reflecting on this year’s theme: "Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future."

I’ve always been proud of being blind. Losing my sight to retinoblastoma wasn’t the end of my journey, it was the beginning of learning how to see the world differently. It taught me resilience, creativity, and how to embrace challenges.

For me, inclusion isn’t just about removing barriers. It’s about celebrating differences and ensuring that everyone has the chance to lead, contribute, and shape the future. Being blind is part of my identity, and I’m proud to use my experiences to help push for a world where everyone feels valued.

To my friends and family: let’s keep challenging stereotypes and advocating for accessibility. Whether it’s supporting inclusive technology, promoting understanding, or simply amplifying the voices of persons with disabilities, every action counts.

Together, we can build a future where no one is left behind, and everyone has the chance to shine.
