How come the toki pona symbol has been used on Sonja's website since the beginning?
The symbol is basically the name of the language in sitelen pona.

As I understand it sitelen pona hasn't been published until pu (2014). jan Pije claims that the symbol was prominent on Sonja's website since the beginning (2001), and several sources seem to support that to an extent.

Does this mean that Sonja already had some kind of vision of sitelen pona back then? Or did she just make up a cute smiley symbol and devised the meaning afterwards along with other symbols? I wonder what it was like for the members who had been seeing the symbol for so long and then found out it actually has a more in-depth meaning. Had nobody asked Sonja before?
