1997, I was so there for Butterfly. (1997-1998 are my fave years of music ). Bought it the day it came out. And Rainbow in 1999. And Glitter in 2001. And Charmbracelet in 2002. You get the picture.
I felt seen in songs like "Looking In". Her music is beautiful (and she writes all the music). Her diva antics are a joke the Lambily is on.
I celebrated her daily back in March, so today I'll just share my story, along with my fave song of hers.
A year or so later, my alarm (clock radio) went off, and it was "Fantasy". I knew it her from the get go, so I raced to the kitchen to turn on the radio in there, and I freaking loved the song so much.
Without realising it, I bought Daydream on c.d. the week it came out at Best Buy and wore it out.
Mariah has been my fave singer since 1994, when she overtook The Judds/Wynonna.
I couldn't stand "Hero" nor "Dreamlover" (still not a fan), so imagine my surprise when I heard "Without You" and loved it. Music Box was the first cassette tape I bought for myself that spring of 1994 (I was 12). I had no idea that her Christmas album had just came out, but I bought it that holiday season.
