"(...) between socialism and barbarism".
This kinda polarisation is the reason the we got to the actual situation we are all living in, and I am sorry the lefts are buying this kinda polarised speech in the eagerness to find a political platform to defend. One thing we must remember is both capitalism and socialism were trying to deal with the problem of production, and both economical models broke in the 80s. The U.S. Russia, and China had become totalitarian states, and our Europe is sold out to them.
There might be a solution in between barbarism and socialism, where some marxist ideas could have a role in this, like the ideas of #KoheiSato who proposed a more #ParticipativeDemocracy where associative organizations would work for a decentralised and horizontal structure, where leaders would appear as they were required. Polarisation is never the way, except for the political leaders in both sides that maybe benefit of the alternance in power.
