I used to think I was being mean when I set a boundary.

Like… actually cruel & evil.

Like I was abandoning people.

Letting them down. Failing some invisible test of kindness.

But the truth is, I was just finally listening to myself.

I was choosing not to betray my body for someone else’s comfort.

And dude! That’s not mean.

That’s medicine.

That’s a sacred act of rebellion.

Because protecting your peace doesn't mean you don’t care.

It means you care deeply - and you're not willing to disappear inside someone else's chaos anymore.

This is still hard sometimes.

But now, when I say no, or take up space, or don’t explain…

I don’t make myself wrong for it.

I just breathe deeper.

And feel myself coming home.
