Summer Strike
(2022 - Viki, 12 0:50 eps)

When tragedies occur, the FL goes on strike from life. She moves to a small seaside village to take a break. There, she meets new people who help her slowly recover & trust herself.

After the 1st eps setup, the drama slides into a beautifully paced slice-of-life. Deceptively calm & simple on the surface, underneath, the characters are dealing with grief, the moral questions of what is right vs. what is good, & responsibility. Toward the end, some shocking events provide wonderful growth in a way that fits well with the story.

Sweet chemistry - not much skinship, but still endearing. The womance is fabulous. The 2nd couple provides cuteness while they deal with their problems, which wonderfully echo the themes. The acting & story were marvelous & good OST.

Summer Strike

Lee Yeo Reum is a young woman whose career and life are going very well: She has just been awarded permanent contract status at work, and she has a boyfriend...

@Hanktank @EllenInEdmonton @emmaaum If you need some calm #kdrama I suggest #DoYouLikeBrahms to Ellen (Elisheva I know you've already watched it 😉).

Another stress-free drama is #SummerStrike. It has many qualities, for instance it's one of the few dramas portraying the Korean countryside life and mentality, however I have to admit that the relationship between the leads (#KimSeolHyun and #ImSiWan, two excellent actors!) is too platonic for my liking.

#kdrama #doyoulikebrahms #브람스를좋아하세요 This is not the type of drama I usually enjoy. It is slow, the storyline has no big twists and no action. BUT. It is a nice love story and it is perfect for learning Korean. I understood more sentences with this drama than ever. Everyone speaks politely by ending verbs with 요. They speak slowly too with mostly short sentences. There's no shouting or angry talk. And #KimMinJae has a wonderful smile 😉! #learningkorean https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Do_You_Like_Brahms%3F
