9 Photos You Should Always Have On Your Phone At Your Fingertips

In a recent blogpost, Kim Komando suggests using your phone's photo library for more than just selfies and pictures of food.

She recommends taking photos of these cards for quick access:

β˜‘οΈβ€‹ Your COVID vaccination card
β˜‘οΈβ€‹ Your Driver's License
β˜‘οΈβ€‹ Other Government-issued ID cards
β˜‘οΈβ€‹ Your Car's License Plate
β˜‘οΈβ€‹ Your Car's VIN Number
β˜‘οΈβ€‹ Your Auto Insurance Card
β˜‘οΈβ€‹ Medical/Dental Insurance Cards

She also suggests taking before/after photos when:
β˜‘οΈβ€‹ Renting a car
β˜‘οΈβ€‹ Renting an Airbnb

Both will help verify the before/after condition you received/left the car/property in after the transaction is done.

Perhaps the safer approach would be to store images of these IDs in your Password Manager for safe keeping and instant access.

SECURITY TIP:

Check what devices have access to your Google account.

Albert Khoury, from Komando.com posted this piece of good advice for people who use Google accounts.

He suggests disconnecting your Google account from:

β˜‘οΈβ€‹ Devices you're no longer using (including ones you tossed into an old drawer).
β˜‘οΈβ€‹ Devices you've sold or given away.
β˜‘οΈβ€‹ Public devices (computers at the library, school, and work).

It's always interesting to see what sort of security advice ordinary consumers are exposed to.

Kim Komando has an enormous audience. Her radio program broadcasts weekly on 420+ radio stations and on demand for listeners who need to time shift. Her tech/security/privacy newsletter has 400,000+ subscribers.

That's an *enormous* reach.

It's a fantastic example of the kind of security advice members of the public are seeing.

Would you agree with every piece of advice she provides? Maybe, maybe not. But it's valuable to know what people are thinking, and it's useful to understand what sort of messaging consumers are receiving.
